During a car drive from Ljubljana to the Rynair Airport of Trieste our driver asked Maharaja: “Is it OK to chant japa while driving?”
Prahladananda Maharaja replied that when you chant while driving and you give full attention to the chanting then you will not be able to give full attention to your driving, which is very dangerous. If, however, you chant and give priority to being attentive to the road then your chanting will be offensive.

What about if we die in a car accident and we are not chanting for that reason?
You can chant always and anywhere, but chanting on japa beads should be done as a sacred meditation. – Nityananda Chandra Das
Yes, prabhu. Good point, I agree. Thank you very much!
